The door slammed behind Aice as he walked lazily into the
morning havoc of the slum streets, he gave a sluggish wave to some of his gang
members
nearby. The small streets were packed with people sliding in-between each
other; there was no place for distraction while walking through the rapid river
of people, all heading their separate ways that morning. Aice fell back into a
side alley way stretching his stiff limbs, letting the sun beams warm his body
up for the day to come.
Starting off into the distance Aice could see the
factories far off, their smoke stacks beginning to flare up one after another, black
gases floating quietly through the skies, the silent killers of all. He had
always wondered what they made in those steel death traps, but never had the
time or skill to venture that far away from the city, maybe a time best sent
for another day. Today was an important one for him, the orders that the higher
up’s had given to Aice where of great magnitude. Apparently they felt whatever it
was that he was the only one that could do it in the organization, whether they
meant it or not, a job was a job.
As the crowds began to get to their correct destinations the
small streets, became once possible for Aice to travel freely. As quick as he
was, large groups of people like that made it difficult for him to pass through, and
he didn’t need anything bogging him down. Aice remembered a time a few years
ago where the streets weren’t so packed with people, but the Saiyan’s kept
forcing humans down here. Looking at the people he was better off than half of them
already by having clothes rather than loin cloths. Beaten and down trout these people
resembled husk that still have energy to move. Even from away off you could see most of
their rib cage skin stuck to it, like a fly on a glue trap. They sent barely enough food to
keep the humans here alive, even then many died, if not from dehydration, then the elements
would take them off.
(Mix of Detroit and Louisianan)
Aice shook the reality of the world around him off, grabbing his head with both
hands, twisting it; he popped his neck with a small sigh of relief. With a
small grin of success, he turned down the streets and began booking it down
the dirt paths of the slums. The wastes of this once great city was in ruins
all around Aice, destroyed builds littered the filling lots with rubble. Worn chain link fences, rusted through
and melted in others made the paths that Aice followed every day. He sometimes forgot that there had been a
wonderful city here before, now he just sees it as it is.
Aice knew the streets well, after all the jobs he had done
throughout the city he could tell you directions from one side of city to the
other. Every side street, alleyway, bridge he had memorized over time, what
else could he really do on the long runs, other than think and watch. The slums
grew a bit better as you moved further out from the center, near the edges shops might get set up, all
the money usually went to the Saiyan's for protection against...well the Saiyan's.
Taking a sharp turn, Aice slide on his knees under a merchants stand, gliding
freely under it he could see the bottom of the poorly made wooden kiosk. Gliding under it as
free as the wind Aice, popping back up on the other side, continuing down the
streets as the merchant yelled at him from his stall.
Glancing back Aice gave him a friendly wave, and held up a shiny red apple at
the man. Seeing a apple in the slums was a god send that Aice could well not pass up,
snatching was mostly involuntary, but necessary at the same time. As the man looked back down
at his stand noticing the missing apple, his face flushed, he looked back up to yell at Aice but he
had disappeared over a wall.
Flinging himself over the wall a breeze of fresh air hit
Aice, the alley slums could get hot and stuffy, the breeze felt of new life to
him. Up ahead Aice could see the division between the slums and the rest of Rad
city, one looked of wealth while the other looked like whatever the city had
thrown out (Louisiana)(trash, shitty roads, if you know you’ve been). Up head a
few of the Saiyan police force could be seen guarding the access point to Rad
city; grabbing a nearby clothes line Aice swung himself onto a nearby terrace,
its rusted metal crunching on his landing.
Looking over at the guards he could already see the brutality of the Saiyan’s.
A thin skeleton of human stood before the Saiyan's, next to him stood an
equally deprived woman, both shook with weakness. The man stood forward calling out to
the Saiyan's in raspy withered voice.
"Please I beg you... we just need a little food, we cannot go on much
longer...."
One of Saiyan men approached the weakened man, towering over the man.
"What do you say? You want more food? Do we not do enough for you scum? We
feed you, give you water, housing, and protection and this is how you repay us? By asking
us for more!"
From behind the Saiyan his fellow Saiyan laughed out at the man. Raising his
hand the guard borough his enormous hand down on the man’s head sending him hurling towards the
ground. A sad sight but not uncommon for this place, some people though they
dissevered better than what they had, look like the guards though otherwise. The woman
shaking fell to her knees wailing at the sight of her struck companion, she begged to the Saiyan.
"Please! Please! I beg you to stop sir! Just let him be, I'll take him and
we'll never bother you again, I swear!" Begging through her sobs.
The Saiyan looked at the woman with a spark in his eyes that Aice had seen many
times before. Looking back over his shoulder he called back to his fellow guards.
"Hey guys, look it’s one of my favorite things in the world! A bitch on
her knees!" A grin appeared on his face.
The two other guards looked at each other and smiled, leaving the gate behind.
The woman eyes grew large as she knew what his words meant.
"No sir, please anything else, not...."
It was too late for her though as the Saiyan men where already upon her, her
wails carried throughout the area.As messed up as this was this was useful in Aice’s favor though, hopefully they
would be too busy with her to notice him. As much as Aice would have liked to help them, he wouldn't stand
a chance.
"It's ok though they'll be in a better place soon."
Jumping down from the rusted bar, Aice feet hit the ground,
rolling forward he slid against the wall that lead up to the gate. He’d had to
be quick before the guards lost interest in the couple.
Taking a deep breath Aice bolted towards the wall, in a few
seconds he had cleared most of the distance between him and wall. Jumping he
kicked the wall next to him, forcing him up at an angle up and over the wall,
the air rushed passed him flaying at his clothes. Landing quietly on the other
side of the wall, Aice gave no time to see if he was being followed, giving no
second though he took a quick right and sped down the back streets of Rad city.
Most likely they hadn't noticed him jump the wall during their "fuck
fest". Leaving the ghetto behind, Aice took the long run towards Rad city.
Eventually Aice wound up in the bottom of a storm drain,
that lead out a to large concrete field.
Taking a few long breathes Aice reached into his tattered
pants, pulling out a small piece of crumpled paper. After a couple seconds of
unfolding it, Aice read over his assignment one last time.
Enter the alley way at the “X” on the map. A large building on
the right with have a white door, enter through here. Once inside head up
stairs, Room 301, retrieve a black brief case on the office table. Destroy the

ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OPEN THE CASE
The mission seemed pretty simple, like the rest he had done,
but the last part in the letter made Aice feel uneasy for some reason.
“They have never told me to do something like that before in any of my jobs. What was so important that
I can’t look at it?”
Taking notice of how
long he had been staring at the letter he shook the thoughts off at turned his
attention back onto the goal at hand. Whatever qualms he had with the mission
could be settled later, right now he and a job to do, and standing around never
got anything done did it? (Louisiana)
Scanning out from the storm drain he would have to cross
a large amount of open area before he could get to the alley
way, off in distance between the buildings he could see all the citizens of Rad
city. Even from here he could tell they were much better off than one outside the
city, most of them even had fat. Their fine clothes where clean without a spot of
dirt, like they even knew what dirt was.
It was like the ghetto was on a completely different world,
as if someone could live in wealth while others suffered. (America)Surely if he
crossed in the open he would be spotted. Thinking for a few seconds, Aice came
up with a solution.
Walking casually into the open Aice stretch his arms, yawning
with relief, he needed a break after the long run that he had here. Taking a
look around the area at the surrounding buildings, usually when Aice visited
the city he had to rush, never really getting to be a tourist. The tall
buildings raised high into the sky almost as if they were growing towards the
sun, while the cotton candy clouds brushed against their cool steel frames. The
glass windows mirrored the blue sky, almost as if they were one. It was a
beautiful sight to look at but their insides told a different story.
"Each one of those buildings could occupy thousands of my people, but
instead they have parties and their own rooms. So much greed and waste."
In any other case Aice would have been hidden in the shadows
and running away from this open well lit field, but right now he was completely
faded from anyone elses vision. If someone looked his way right now all they
would see is the open cement field and wouldn’t take another glance. Luckily
this was Aice’s ace in the hole, shortly he reached the other side and once
again slipped into the cool embarrass of the shadows. He slowly began to fade back
into the visual word, his body appearing as if from thin air.
Taking a bit of pride in his talents, his attention turned
back to his task; looking down the alley way he could see the door but he also
saw another challenge. A guard was standing guard at the door, keeping ever
vigilant watch of his surrounding, this might be a little more difficult than first
thought but Aice was always prepared for things like this. Glancing around the
alley way Aice took stock what laid around,
“Most of this is trash…. A few cans, looks like one of those old fashion
picture boxes, and a rusty trash can…hmm, think I have an idea.”
A can flew across the alley way, bouncing its way down the
trash filled pavement landing a few feet from where the guard was standing.
Barely moving his head he glanced at the can, and scoffed loudly for all nearby
to hear.
“You really think that’s going to work on me? Who the fuck
do you take me for? I’ve seen all those old movies, where they ‘distract the
guard with a can or rock’ do you really think that fucking works?” the guard
yelled down the alley way.
He stood there as if he was waiting for a response from
someone else, none came to him though. Scoffing to himself again, he scanned
down the alley way looking for whoever threw the can. His answer did not come
from the alley way but from above it, noticing a shadow forming below him he looked
up just in time for a T.V to smash into his face, followed by a trash can that
covered the top part of his body, and followed once more by Aice’s feet
slamming on the trash can bottom. The sound was somewhat similar to a man’s
neck snapping mixed with a train wreck, with a large thud the man fell
backwards on to the pavement. Aice landed softly on the floor next to him, brushing off
his hands causally as if saying “just a normal day”. Walking past the body Aice
pulled a lock pick out from his pocket sliding it into the lock, swirling it
around for a few seconds before, a click told him he was in.
Taking his lock pick he silently fled into the open building closing
the white door behind him, the coolness of the building surrounded Aice, a nice
change from the heat of the day. Turning around he stood in a corridor of the
building, scanning the hallway he noticed a door at the end it was labeled
“Staircase”. Taking a slow paced Aice kept his back to wall, making his way to the door,
"It seems like no one’s here, must be a half day." He thought sarcastically
Matter not; it just made his job all that much easier. Reaching the door, he
quickly opened it, scanning up the stairs, checking for any signs of life, but
it was empty, dashing up the stairs Aice made easy work of the flights.
Reaching the third floor Aice cautiously opened the door, peeking out into the hallway.
Making sure it was clear he heading out into the open hall, looking around for the
office.
“Room 301, it looks like this is the place; let’s just hope I won’t have any more
surprises once I’m in.”
Turning the knob Aice walked into the office, it was a well-furnished
room; full of book shelves, a few black chairs, wooden desk...
and WALL PAPPER! He had always heard of wall paper but he had
never seen it before, a bit in awe of how interesting its designs where,
his mind snapped back to his assignment.
Facing towards Aice was a large window; it looked out onto the city and the
crowds of people who walked past it, in their fancy clothes, carrying food and
drink with them as they past. It would have been a nice view if
Aice hadn’t wanted to be seen, ducking to his knees; Aice crawled around the
room in search of the brief case. The carpet brushed against his hands
something else he was just now experiencing. The case wasn’t on the table like
the note had said, but it’s possible that someone had moved it elsewhere in the room. As
Aice turned the corner of the desk, a small smile shot across his face, there
stood the black case.
“Well looks like another job well done. Time for a victory snack!”
Leaning his back against the desk he took the apple out of
his pocket and took a large bite enjoying the success of the job and the taste
of the sweet apple. Even though he succeeded, he still had uneasy feeling in
the back of his head.
