1. We are here to have fun, so leave your drama off the keyboard. Its okay to chat about a rough day, or share your feelings here, but don't be the one who causes drama here. We won't tolerate it.
2. This is a mature roleplaying environment(PG-13). While all threads will be kept to the Proboards regulation, the content may be graphic, and may contain strong language. If this offends you please understand that as writers our goal is to create and maintain a real character. That said, excessive cursing, or cursing at other members will not be tolerated, nor will any form of harassment or racial slur. Again, see rule number 1.
3. God Modding, Bunnying, and Meta-Gaming (All explained in Role-Playing Tips) are not acceptable and will be dealt with. Accidents happen, and misunderstandings occur, but habitual offenders will likely not last here long.
4. No arguing with the Staff. You are always allowed to ask questions and voice concerns, but doing so in a private and respectful manner is a must, and we will do the same.
5. This is not a novice site, we expect your posts will contain a minimum of three sentences. If you are new at this ask for help and we will gladly help advance you to pumping out larger posts with ease.
6. Your information needs to be up to date and accurate as much as possible. Links to your Character sheet are required inside of your signature. Keeping track of your quests and stats is your responsibility.
7. We suggest doing your posts in a word document, and then transferring them to post. If there is an error in posting your work could be lost.
If any of these rules are broken you will be officially given a warning, this warning is worth 10% of the warning scale. Each additional offense will be decided accordingly, and you will be notified of your warning level. If that level reaches 100% you will be banned for 3 days. If you return and the problems are not resolved, we may need to find a more permanent solution.
Now with all of that out of the way I want to assure you all that these rules are in place to make for a fun Role Play environment, creativity is encouraged.

Here at Dragon Ball Empire we use a specific set of statistics to advance your character, and reward your effort. The stats are as follows.
Strength (ST): How physically strong your character is. This will determine if you are capable of blocking another users attack, or throwing a tougher punch. Speed (SP): How fast is your character? Can they maneuver quickly or are they too slow? Can they dodge incoming attacks, or will they be forced to take the hit. Ki (KI): The inner Chi that flows within us all. How much do you possess, and how is your control over that. Can you fire endless waves of energy blasts, or are you limited to one good attack. Control (CO): How do you utilize your Ki. Are you able to fire something as big as the death ball, or are you only capable of a little Ki blast Endurance (EN): Can you take a hit? How long until your body gives out on you. If your other stats are high, but this one is low it may not be a very long fight for you. Note: Every 5 stat points you are eligible for a new move. We have started you off with two
Each member will start with the required stats of their Race and Class. Keep in mind that each stat does something specific, and specializing in a certain area could give you the edge in combat.
If your opponent is within 3 points of your stat, you are evenly matched and no one user will have the advantage. If you are within 10 points, but past three, then your opponent holds a significant advantage. If your opponent holds more than 10 points above you, then you are pretty legitimately screwed, but fight on!
Say for example, Goku were fighting Raditz Goku/Raditz ST: 2/6 SP: 3/6 KI: 3/2 CO: 2/5 ED: 5/5
Clearly Raditz has the advantage in this fight. He is stronger and faster. Luckily Goku can gather a little more Ki than him, but Raditz can fire bigger and badder blasts. They can both last an equal amount of time in battle.
Don't like stats? Good news, these stats are just an outline to help you track your characters progression. If you would rather fight a member based on writing merit alone, you can do that. _________________________________________________________________________________________________
Here is a more in depth look at our stats, if you are not ready to learn more, skip to the next section.
Each stat is directly impacted by another, so a well balanced set will be a good idea to face a variety of enemies.
Strength determines how hard you hit. If your strength exceeds your opponent then you hit harder. I won't delve any deeper here. It is the most straight forward of all the stats and doesn't need much explanation.
Speed determines your ability to move on the battle field. If you have a speed of 2, and your opponent has a speed of 5 that doesn't mean that he can dodge everything you throw at him, but he can dodge a lot more. Think about your speed level as you get out of an attack free card. For each speed point you have, you can dodge an attack sent at you by your opponent, this means that your opponent with a speed of 5 can dodge more often than you can. That said speed is impacted by other factors including how fast your opponent is, and how strong the attack is. Like any stat this is negotiable in how you play it, but the short of it is don't be that guy that dodges every attack, and if you do you had better have the speed to back it up
Ki is the amount of energy you have. Have you ever seen Vegeta explode into a flurry of energy blasts? They weren't the strongest of blasts, but there sure was a lot of them. Ki is about the quantity, not the quality. If you have a higher Ki, you can produce energy attacks more often. Say for example you have a 5 to your opponents 2, then you could essentially fire three more attacks than he could. Of course little energy attacks don't count against you, but a good Kamehameha sure does. The bigger the attack the more energy it burns, so someone with a 1 for Ki would be unable to harness a spirit bomb or a death ball. They may even have trouble sustaining flight for long periods of time. Ki also determines the number of energy based attacks you can have. You always start with 2, and gain each additional one in intervals of 5 Ki
Control is about quality not quantity. If you have a high level of control that means you can produce the bad ass attacks seen in the show. A member with only a 4 in control likely can only use attacks like the Kamehameha wave, yet a person with a 20 could blow apart a planet with enough Ki to back it up. These numbers of course are all theoretical and would be compared to your opponent but you get the idea. Ki is the amount of energy you have to work with, Control is the quality of the Ki generation and manipulation.
Endurance is your hit points. The higher this is the greater a beating you can take. This too is rather self explanatory and up to interpretation, but essentially if your EN is higher than your opponent, then you can take more hits.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The way to earn more in your stats is to participate in battles. Character threads are nice, and get you other perks, but threads where fights occur train your body and mind, and so stats will increase. Based on what your character focused on each battle guarantee's you 1 point. (A battle consists of 3 fighting posts or more by each member) Extra points are awarded for spectacular effort, but threads will not gain more than 3 points per fight unless a special item was in use.
HOW A BATTLE WORKS
When engaging any other member you need to have a few things, the first is motive. Walking up to a guy on the street and punching him in the face isn't a very good motivation, and will make for bland character development. Dialogue between characters is necessary. Once the battle begins it is entirely at the free reign of the members. Moderators will not get involved unless a rule is being broken, or one member believes the other is not fighting fairly. We will let you duke it out, and grade it at the end. YOU MAY NOT KILL OTHER CHARACTERS. There will be events where killing will be a harsh reality, but that time is not now. You can think that you killed them, and even leave them near death, but you may not kill your foe without both their permission, and the consent of the moderator team.
Solo threads can gain you techniques, and a few spare stats when they are needed most. You can only earn 5 stat points per week in this way, but you can do as many of these threads as you like. They are primarily for learning new techniques.

Roleplaying Tips
Here are a few terms that you may not have known. Don't be shy, we were all new to these terms at one point, and no doubt I still am ignorant to a few out there. Here are the most commonly used terms.
God Modding: This is used to describe someone who plays God. Not literally, but think of it this way. Your character walks into a fight, dodges every attack, and launches impossible to miss attacks. You are pretty much a God among men and no one wants to roleplay with that. If you fear you are falling into this, look at your stats and judge accordingly. Remember we are here for the story, and the good guys didn't win every single fight.
Bunnying: This is the act of playing another person's character. That means you made their character do something that the user did not agree to. For example if I said "Tenshu shot Zach in the chest and watched the man writhe on the ground in pain before finally begging for mercy" I have assumed 3 things. 1 that my attack hit (Which is never a definite case), 2 that he was in pain, and 3 that he begged me for mercy. All attacks should be attempts, so if I shoot Zach I should say "Tenshu fired a shot at Zach, aiming for his chest. If the attack hit it would likely send a surge of pain through the man's chest. Tenshu would make him beg for mercy". Its longer, it sounds better, and it gives Zach a chance to dodge, but lets him know what I am hoping for.
Meta-Gaming: Knowing something IRL (In Real Life) doesn't mean your character knows it. That is Meta-Gaming. Obviously there will be dragon balls on the site, its the name of the site after all, but knowing what they are, who made them, and where they are is all metagaming and is not acceptable. The same is the case with other users. If you have never met or heard of a person, its likely that you know nothing about them. You can't know everything, and its more fun when you let your character be in a shroud of mystery.
OOC: Out of Character. If you want to talk about something that is not about the site, you would post it out of character, if you are in a thread but have a question or comment for the other member you will want to specify that with an OOC next to it, or at the very least with parenthesis.
Spamming: Look at the spam box within your E-mail. Do you read all those messages? No, because they are pointless, and there are thousands of them. If you are posting in our Chat box repeatedly, bumping threads excessively, or double and triple posting in threads, that is Spamming and its annoying
Flamming: Flamming another member is the act of harassing them with insults. Its essentially spamming but in a much more aggressive manner.

QUESTS
Often problems will arise between the factions, it is your job to solve these problems. Perhaps a shipment of goods has been hijacked, or perhaps you are the one doing the hijacking. Most of the time these missions will be completed with 2-4 members and one moderator, but on seldom occasion these can be completed with 1 moderator, or under very special circumstances be done solo. All Quest threads will be made an Announcement until they are filled and will begin at a set date (Usually 2-4 days after posting) They are on a first come first serve basis, so post fast!
You may be in one quest at a time.
FAME
In order to gain access to certain parts of the site, you will need to be a member of that faction. Becoming a member means that the faction trusts you. You only need 10 points in a faction to join them. It is wise to keep these totals with your character page. Each time you complete a quest your fame increases in one of five ways.
The points will go to either - The Saiyan Empire - The Rebellion - The Arcosian - Mark you as a mercenary - Mark you as a villain
If you are a member of one group you MAY NOT be a member of another. Loyal members stick to their faction. So if you have 10 points with the rebellion, you cannot join the Namekians or be known as a famous merc. The same can be said for the other factions. Allied factions can work together, but cannot view the opposing mission log
Total faction fame is recorded on this site, meaning if two people have a fame of 5 for the SE, the SE has 10 points total. At certain points in the game events will be triggered based on faction fame points. All members of a faction need to contribute in order to help their faction stay on top.
Please keep your fame recorded on your character sheet.
CONSEQUENCES
If you are on a level 1-3 mission there are no consequences for failure other than a possible loss of fame for your group. If you fail a 4-5 mission the consequences could be much worse. You could...
-Lose an Item -Lose substancial fame -Become Incapacitated
If you are incapacitated a few things will happen. First you will be unable to post with your character for 3 days as they will need time to heal. On top of that you will lose 5 stat points (Of your choosing) and one Item to whoever incapacitated you (Opponents choice) NPC's will not steal an Item.
Your character will not die. This site does not have an afterlife, or a death for Characters unless you decide you no longer want them. NPC's can die however and that can mean bad things for your faction.
ITEMS
Items grant you bonuses to your stats while in battle. You get to roleplay with them as well. Characters do not start off with these Items but they may be obtained through Quests. Items include...
Various weapons to improve strength and speed Tools to enhance your Ki and control Armor to increase your Endurance Special items that have an effect in combat
These can only be obtained through Quests and plot roleplay
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Quests are the main part of the site. You may do any level at any time, and you may do it with other users (Recommended) Keep in mind however that Items are not duplicated, so you will have to decide between the two of you who receives it if one is found. The stat and fame increases are given to both users involved.
IS THAT THE ONLY THING TO DO HERE?
No, Player interaction and interaction with your faction outside of quests is beyond important. Your character is playing a huge role in the story. Our gameplay method sets it up so that everyone can be a hero, or a nasty villain. You will build bonds with other players, as well as rivalries. You can be in as many threads as you like at one time, but you are limited to 1 quest per week. All threads have the potential to gain stats, fame, or items if the moderators enjoy the thread itself even if fighting or training was not involved.

Update: Number of moves available is based off of overall stats, not Ki. Every 5 stat points you can learn one new move via a solo thread or a group training.
Also a reminder that links to your profile are required inside of your signature!

Incapacitation is what happens to a character who loses a fight, and badly. It won't happen in basic threads or even low level missions. But during plot events or high level missions you may find yourself overwhelmed and as a result incapacitated. When this happens a few negative things will occur.
1. The person who beat you will loot one of your items from you. 2. A considerable number of stats will be reduced for a set period of time based on how badly you lost. 3. You will fail the mission unless you have allies present to finish the mission for you.
I will break each of these three things down for you.
If someone beats you in combat and you are on one of these high level missions you can expect them to loot your stuff. This is winner's choice so if you have armor, scouters, senzu beans (Why didn't you use them?), or any other number of items, they will get to choose one to steal from you. This is easily the worst of the 3 negative aspects of incapacitation.
When you are beaten that badly you will lose stats, but not permanently. Like any injured person you need time to heal, so for the next 3-5 threads (based on how badly you were defeated) you will have lower stats. For example if you break your arm, you will have to role play a broken arm for 3 threads and have a strength stat with five less than your normal amount. This is just one example, but it can happen for any situation. If you break your leg you might lose 5 speed, or if you have a head injury your Ki or Control might drop by a significant amount. These are all gained back after the healing time.
Last but not least you will fail the mission. This means you don't get an item and you will very likely lose faction points. You will NOT lose any stat gains from this thread. Your character still fought, so it makes sense that they would still increase in skill. Although they will have some sort of sustained injury as mentioned above.
HEAVY INCAPACITATION
This is the big and rare one, but should this one occur there will be one more negative, and that is a permanent physical problem. Perhaps your leg never popped back into place properly and now you walk with a limp. Maybe you lost an arm in combat. These are permanent physical problems and can only be resolved through wishing on the dragon, or finding a creative way past it (Find a scientist and get a robotic arm? You know, Dragonball stuff!). Really this could end up being great character development for you. Every time someone is incapacitated a 10 sided die will be rolled by the admin, and on every 10 rolled a heavy incapacitation will occur. You won't lose any stats permanently, but your physical state will be changed in some way.
