The First Abduction (The Village)

[Zach]

Still maintaining his ready position, Zach kept his gaze locked on the kid who had made himself their enemy, his fists clenched, arms held firmly up in a high defensive posture, legs parted to improove his balance and his core tense to help deflect anything the child might try to throw at him there. No atttack came though, at least not a physical one. The boy instead slung more insults and accused Zach of helping the Saiyans in what ever it was they were doing as if it was something horrible. He was a slave and slave do as they are told by their masters otherwise they will be punished and those they care about would share in that punishment. This arrogant little brat knew nothing of how the real world worked and even though Zach only knew marginally more, he understood his position in that world well. The cowardly adolescent before him had the gall to not only try and force some careing for people he'd never met over his friends and family on the farm upon Zach, but then further intimated that Zach should forsake his friends and family for those very same strangers, strangers that if this rotten little pipsqueek was any indication, were worse then the master's themselves. He would not let this insult slide and this boy would be tought a lesson whether he liked it or not.

"Shut your mouth." Zach growled. "You have no idea what what my position is. You have no idea what it's like to be a servant. I work all day, every day and once or twice a week I get taken from my parents. I get taken to the masters and they beat the living hell out of me. But unlike you, you self centered little twerp, I do it for my family, for MY people. I do it to keep THEM safe. You know nothing." Zach replied, his anger at the insinuation that he was somehow a traitor boiling into a frothing rage. How dare this impish little brat who knows nothing of his life sit in judgement of him. He didn't care if his outburst showed to Koli that he wasn't saticfied with his life, she was the most understanding of the master's he'd ever met and would hopefully not hold it against him, she had after all said herself that the blonde was capable of great things and wondered why he'd not left the farm on his own.

"Miss Koli." he added through gritted teeth. "May we deal with this brat quickly and go home now?"

Koli grinned victoriously as the thief seemed to be preparing himself for combat, and as he spoke her muscles tensed with anticipation as the thief finally decided to quit with the running and fight like a man. Unfortunately that meant she would need to keep her word and make sure to look out to ensure she didn't accidentally end him but that was fine so long as she got the fight she'd been looking for for so long. Just as Koli was about to get things started she saw something in the thief's eyes, he was surprised because of something and his attention was clearly not entirely on her anymore.

Then the thief had shouted and despite knowing how likely it was to be a trick Koli decided to take a look at what the Thief was talking about banking on Zach being capable of deflecting any sneak attack the thief might try while she took a moment to see what it was he was blabbering about. Koli turned her head and as she did her eyes widened. Bright lights were being beamed down somewhere else in the settlement and with her keen eyes Koli could see that people were being abducted through these lights, more specifically children. The break in her concentration caused the energy built up in her hand to fade away returning to Koli herself as her hands clenched tightly in anger.

"Pycdyntc!*" Koli spat the rather foreign word while not something likely to be understood by the others present it was most certainly not a particularly nice word considering the inflection used when it had been said. Koli's clenched hands shook noticibly as her once excited and victorious expression shifted back to anger. She barely even registered the words being spoken by the thief and Zach as they exchanged words concerning what was going on. She knew the thief was angry with Zach specifically and she had managed to catch him mentioning Zachs parents. Zach had responded with similar fury and if she had not been so focused on what was going on elsewhere Koli would have been surprised to hear Zach actively talking about his life to the thief.

But she WAS distracted, she had hoped something like this would not happen for much longer, and especially would not be so focused on children. She had wanted to be stronger, more ingrained in the military when this happened so that she could find some way to ruin it all. But now? She had no means to do anything of the sort short of actually revealing her nature to the Empire by actively stopping the whole thing. Koli snapped out of her thoughts as she heard Zach call her name, she turned to look at him with an almost blank expression. She wanted so badly to stop what was going on to help those kids, she KNEW what would happen if they were successfully abducted. Zach was almost a perfect example of it, unquestioning subservience. Except those kids... they were likely to be even WORSE than Zach, and likely they'd even have all the potential ripped out of them by how they would be raised. Zach at least still had a bit of kick in him and it seemed to shine through every time she saw him. But those kids would be almost entirely lost.

"I.. " Koli started to speak but simply could not find the words, her mind was so utterly scattered by all of this. "I cant.." Koli tried again but once again found herself unsure of what to say she wasn't sure WHY she had started to say that, it had been merely a thought 'I cant let this happen' she hadn't actually wanted to SAY that. Koli turned away from the thief and Zach looking back to the lights, the children were a bit further up now and every part of Koli screamed for her to to stop this. But she knew she couldn't, it would destroy any chance of the Empire believing her to be on there side. She was stuck, no option was 'good' nothing she could do would result in anything going right. There was too much to take in right now so suddenly. Koli didn't try responding to Zach again, rather she simply ignored both Zach and the thief in favor of simply trying her best to figure out some way to make this all work and FAST before the children were gone forever.

[Aice]

Aice watch the two from afar not wanting to very close when the fighting broke out between them and it looked like things were beginning to heat up between the Zach and Aice. However so far no punch had been throwing just words, as the two debated the morals of the situation, Aice couldn't see why the blond would chose to work for those that had been putting him down all these year.

"Why doesn't he understand? If he just fights back he can save lives and be free for once in his life!"

Even though all the verbal fighting Aice took notice that the girl was no longer paying attention to the racket that they were making, she just seemed to be staring into the shining tower watching all the children being abducted. Her stare was almost blank but her body shook with anger as she clenched her hands into fists. Even from the distance between them Aice could here the words that came out of mouth as Zach ask for permission to attack Aice.

"I can't..."

"She can't what? She can't fight?...wait...."

"You can't let this happen, is that what your trying to say? Do you think what is going on here is wrong?" Aice asked the girl as he pointed at the glowing spire.

"Does she actually think what they're doing is wrong... I just though that all Saiyan's thought the same...but maybe she's different than the rest.... Let's hope so I'll take any help I can get at this point"

"If you don't agree with that they're doing you have the power to stop them."

Koli gritted her teeth as she heard the thief speak, she instantly regretted trying to speak at all, part of her had forgotten that he was there at all, she had been so distracted by the abduction that she'd let her hesitation and anger over what was happening be seen by someone she had no real reason to trust, Zach was at least partially trustworthy, if she told him to keep his mouth shut over how he had seen her react he almost certainly would unless perhaps asked by her uncle but her uncle had no reason to do such a thing. The thief however, he was a complete wildcard and one that was already predisposed to not working with her.

This was a problem. "You don't even know what you're asking kid" Koli started, perhaps she could give him a vague explanation, if he showed any real signs of not being able to keep his mouth shut then things were once again going to get really bad really quickly for the thief, and Koli was rather certain she wouldn't be able to keep her word on letting him live. "Regardless of what I think there ISNT anything I can do, what power do I have to stop that." Koli said gesturing at the lights "I'm strong, but not strong enough to take them all on by myself, I'm not even  officially apart of the army yet, I'm not some big time general that can just call this shit off, and If they DO have someone leading all this its probably someone a lot tougher than me and I can guaran-damn-tee that I'm no pushover." Koli said with an annoyed scowl, she wanted nothing more right now than to do exactly as the thief had suggested, just go stop this shit. But she couldn't.

"The best I could hope for would be for tonight to be a full moon, if that were the case I'd maybe have a chance to end the abductions before they took me down but even if that was the case I wouldn't do it. That would definitely be the end of me and I've got far too much to do before I die. As sad as it is there isn't much that can be done." Koli said with a heavy sigh. "I don't even feel like kicking your ass anymore." Koli said with a half hearted chuckle  before walking over to one of the old abandoned cars still left in the lot and taking a seat on the hood once again turning her gaze onto the lights as the first of the children dissapered.

[Aice]

The tension that was leading up to the fight was killed after Koli wanted no more part in the rest of the Siayan's afairs, whatever her goals where they obviously weren't the same as the Saiyan's here on earth. With the  ever looming threat of the girl now removed from the seciro everything else just fell to pieces, Aice had never really wanted to fight either of them it more of he was going to be forced into the act against his will. However, Aice was still un-sure whether if Zach still wanted to bash his face in, but he decided not to give him the chance to. While Zach's attention was still focused on Koli, Aice used his ability to fade from their vision.

"I know you don't feel like you have the power to stop them, but you did have the power to stop this fight and I wont let that go to waste."

Taking no extra time to make sure she heard his message Aice bolting towards the car as he picked up his items, and dashed off towards the shinning spire, knowing that he was needed some where else more than here. Even if Zach had gotten his permission to attack him, it would have been near impossible with him traveling so fast and while invisible. He would have to quell his anger for another day as Aice had business to take of with Winta.

With the cowardly child now in retreat, as seemed to be his natural state, Zach relaxed and half entertained the thought of throwing a loose brick at his scurrying form. He was gone before the blonde could find a suitable projectile though so Zach put him out of his mind and turned back to Koli and the more important situation at hand. She’d parked herself on an old vehicle and appeared to be deep in conflicted thought. The blonde understood her conflict since she had confided in him that she wasn’t here to support the other Saiyan’s cause. The children were beyond their reach though so what could be done? Was it even really so bad? This place was a dump, dirty, crumbling and decrepit. The children would probably end up on farms like Zach, which in spite of the way he personally was treated, he considered that a much better place to live.

Remaining on guard although considerably more relaxed, Zach moved to the vehicle's side and stood silent for a moment before addressing his female master. "Miss Koli... If I'm not out of place aying it, might I suggest we go back to the tractor and head home?" the blonde started. He knew the state of mind she was in and the environment they were in were both colectively dangerous so Zach chose his words cafefully. "We can't do anything for those kids now, you said so your self. Staying here is only going to make you feel worse. Besides, if we get back and tell the master what went on here, he might arrange for some of those kids to come to the farm... It's better then this place."

Koli let out a sigh and shook her head as Zach spoke but rose up from her place on the old car as she did so to look at Zach. "The sad thing is... you really believe that." Koli said with a shake of her head pushing herself off the car and casting one last glance at the children being abducted. She could only hope that there was someone out there doing something to save at least some of them from there fate, the Thief was already gone, little to no trace of his presence lingering around and not even any sight of him in the distance. Perhaps he would make some measure of difference over there. "Lets just go." Koli said with one last sigh and without another word she began marching back the way they had come taking Zach's suggestion of returning to the tractor first, truthfully Koli would have preferred the long walk back but there was no sense in causing any problems by leaving the truck behind.

Though there was not a lot of action. The dialogue (specifically that last back and forth with Koli and Zach) was rather gripping. Nice development gents.
